Richard A. (Dick) Fisher was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Westchester County. From an early age he was fascinated by light and consequently, photography. As a junior at Ossining High School he won a statewide student arts contest for a multimedia creation combining his photography, poetry, and music. (Raga to Being) He was then selected to attend Bensalem, the Experimental College at Fordham University for three full years of self directed study of photography, (darkroom production), film, (appreciation & production), mass communication, (internship with Marshall McLuhan, “the medium is the message” guy), television, and radio production. After receiving his BA from Fordham he worked as a radio announcer in Springfield, MA and apprenticed to a carpenter. .
The next ten years prior to his career as a filmmaker, he lived in Vermont on a commune, was a dairy farmer at a kibbutz in Isreal, a carpenter, a sculptor's apprentice, a musician, a volunteer firefighter, and a construction surveyor - among other things. After returning to school and earning a Master’s Degree from Syracuse University, Newhouse School of Communication, he began his life long career as a filmmaker.

Owner/Operator of Videography Productions, Inc. Established in New York City in 1981 providing on location production services to many television shows such as: A Current Affair, Entertainment Tonight, Hard Copy, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, Inside Edition, America's Most Wanted, and many others. In 1994 Videography Productions, Inc. produced The Brothers McMullen.
